If the Puss “cat flick” didn’t really do anything for you, “A Cat in Paris” may just be the thing to sate your “cat flick” cravings.
Nominated for an Academy Award in 2011 – Best Animated Feature Category – “A Cat in Paris” (produced in France) will be shown in the US this summer, a worthy film for cat lovers and non-cat lovers to enjoy.
The film tells the tale of Dino, a cat who leads two half-lives, one as a domestic pet, the other as an infamous thief. As many cat owners are well aware, cats are prone to living double lives, from being cute cuddly balls of fur, to being devious bastards with sharp fangs and claws.
“A Cat in Paris” captures this pet cat fact, divesting into the secret life led by cats outside their master’s homes.
The movie lost to “Rango” as Best Animated Feature, the flick which starred the voice talents of Johnny Depp.
It is distributed by GKIDS, an inde film distributor, and reports of top-talents voicing over the French-to-English translation of the film. Talents such as Anjelica Huston, Matthew Modine and Marcia Gay Harden are slated to be in the English dub.
The movie was initially released in Los Angeles and in New York in June 1, with schedules for other releases to happen by August. Details pertaining to when it’d be shown where you are can be found in the movie’s official Facebook page.
So if cats are your thing, “A Cat in Paris” is right for you.
