The 5 Coolest Pets Humanity Has Bred

5 - Cama is a hybrid between a male dromedary camel and a female llama. The first cama was born on January 14, 1998. The aim was to create an animal capable of higher wool production than the llama, with the size and strength of a camel and a cooperative temperament.

4 - Zebroid is the offspring of any cross between a zebra and any other equine. Zebroids physically resemble their nonzebra parent, but are striped like a zebra. The stripes generally do not cover the whole body, and might be confined to the legs or spread onto parts of the body or neck.

3 - Silver Foxes as devoted as dogs but as independent as cats. Silver Foxes are completely black except for a white coloration on the tip of the tail, some are bluish-grey, and some may have a cinereous color on the sides. The silver fox morph is very behaviorally similar to the red morph. One common behavior is scent marking. This behavior is used as a display of dominance, but may also be used to communicate the absence of food from foraging areas.

2 - The Savannah Cat is a hybrid cat breed. It is a cross between a serval and a domestic cat. Savannahs are extremely loyal to their owners like dogs, and they will follow their owners around the house like a canine. Many Savannah cats do not fear water, and will play or even immerse themselves in water. Some owners even shower with their Savannah cats. Presenting a water bowl to a Savannah may also prove a challenge, as some will promptly begin to "bat" all the water out of the bowl until it is empty, using their front paws.

1 - Saarloos Wolfhound In 1935, Dutch breeder Leendert Saarloos started cross-breeding a German Shepherd Dog male to a female European Wolf which he obtained from the Rotterdam Zoo. he found most dogs to be too domesticated and wanted to breed in more natural properties in order to get better working dogs. The result wasn't entirely what Saarloos had hoped for. This breed is cautious, reserved and lacks the ferocity to attack. some Saarloos wolfdogs were trained as guide dogs for the blind and as rescue dogs, but most dogs of this breed are currently kept as family dogs.

Consider Expensive Exotic Cats

There are people who just want to have unique pets, not just based on their looks and breed but also one that caters to their status symbol, something that can talk about their class and stature in society. These pets, can be pet cats that come in different kinds, looks and sizes and also widely differ in how they are managed and cared. Most of all, they can be totally distinct among others because of the price tag it connotes.

Talk about prices, these pets are, the most expensive ones ranging from approximately $800 to $138,000. These pets are generally legal in the United States but may be limited to other states and areas. It takes not just the availability of cash to purchase these expensive pets but also information on care and even special licensing for some.
Savannah Cats
Bengal Cat – This exotic feline is a cross between a common domestic cat and an Asian Leopard cat which is small, only weighing about 10 pounds but its price is not small and cheap at all. The buying rate runs between $800 to $3,000.00 depending on the size and the age of the cat.

White Lion Cubs – Would you consider a cute and white lion cub as a pet? Their white fur does not mean they are an albino of some sort. It is actually caused by a recessive gene known as the chutiya or color inhibitor gene, highly varied from the albinism gene. However these white lion cubs have a rare color mutation of the Kruger subspecies of Lion. Believe it or not, white lion cubs’ price range from $120,000 to a staggering $138,000.00 that tends to grow humungous through time reaching over 300 pounds of muscle, teeth, claws and all. In fact, their size requires a considerable amount of food consumption which is up to 20 lbs. of food per day.

Ashera Cat- This is not an ordinary cat at all. It looks pretty expensive and hybrid. An Ashera cat is a breed created by mixing the bloodlines of a domesticated cat, an African Serval and an Asian Leopard Cat. The produce is a 30 pound extraordinary cat taht is domesticated, affectionate, loving and very intelligent. The price too, is extraordinary which about $22,000 is to start with depending on the size and maturity.

Savannah Cat
– This cat has basically the same bloodline as that of the Ashera but with a lower price of $5,000 for a start. They are noted for their slender, tall bodies and their big ears. It is one of the newest breed in the world and the cross-breeding takes time for it to be successful.

Savannah Cats

Savannah cats are considered one of the larger races of domesticated cats. A Savannah cat's body size is higher, slenderer, and larger than other domestic cats. These cats are the result of breeding 2 cat breeds; the Serval cats (wild cats from Africa) and exotic domestic cats that are smaller than the Serval cats like the Bengal cat, Oriental Shorthair, Egyptian Mau, or Serengeti.

Savannah cats have a loyalty to its owner much like a dog's. These cats will follow you around just like any loving dog does. They can even be trained like to sit, pretend sleep, jump, walk on the rope, fetch, and any other trick that a smart dog can do.

Even more interesting is the fact that Savannah cats can leap to about 8 FEET! That's 96 inches! It can technically jump on any living person on this planet!

Unlike most domestic cats, Savannah Cats are by nature not afraid of water. They will even play on water and owners are known to shower with them.

These cats are by nature very social to humans, dogs, cats, and any other animals. Savannah cats have no temperament problems more common in other domestic cat breeds like shy and aggressive. Cats as they are, Savannah cats are very curious, and have been known to get into all sorts of things and troubles. They often learn how to open doors and cabinets (maybe to get food?).

Thinking of owning one already? Hold up.Savannah cats belong to the top ten most expensive cat breeds in the World with prices ranging from U.S. $4,000-10,000! Sorry folks! This cat will have to remain a dream for the 99% of us on this planet.

At the time of writing, there aren't any health issues specifically associated with the Savannah cat. Some vets on the other hand have noticed Servals to have smaller livers relative to their size. For this reason, medications on Savannah cats are advised to be lower compared to their body weight. In addition, the blood values of Savannahs may vary from the typical domestic cat, due to the Serval genes that they inherit.

It has also been noted that Savannah cats and other high breeds like Bengals do not respond well to anesthesia that contains Ketamine. Many Savannah breeders request that Ketamine be not used for surgeries.

Some (but not all) Savannah breeders believe strongly that modified live vaccines should not be used on Savannahs, that only killed virus vaccines should be used. Others are the complete opposite, having had poor reactions to killed vaccines, and no vaccine reaction (lethargy, illness, etc) to the modified live vaccines. This, also, has not been studied, and opinions vary widely from breeder to breeder.

Some breeders state that Savannah cats have no known special care or food requirements, while others recommend a very high quality diet with no grains or by-products. Some recommend a partial or complete raw feeding/raw food diet with at least 32% protein and no by-products. Some Savannah breeders recommend calcium and other supplements, especially for growing cats and earlier generations. Others consider it unnecessary, or even harmful. Most Savannah breeders agree that Savannahs have a need for more taurine than the average domestic cats, and therefore recommend taurine supplement which can be added to any food type. Issues of Savannah diet are not without controversy, and again, it is best to seek the advice of a veterinarian or exotic cat specialist before feeding a Savannah cat any non-standard diet.
Laws governing ownership of Savannah cats in the United States vary state by state. The majority of states follow the code set by the United States Department of Agriculture which defines wild/domesticated hybrid crosses as domesticated. Some states have set more restrictive laws on hybrid cat ownership, including, but not limited to: Hawaii, Massachusetts, and Georgia. See HybridLaw.com for specific state-by-state laws regarding ownership of Savannah cats. Some cities may invoke laws that differ from the state. For example, Savannahs more than five generations from the Serval are allowed to be owned in New York state, but not in the city of New York.

The Australian Federal government has banned the importation into Australia of the Savannah cat, as the larger cats could potentially threaten species of the country's native wildlife not threatened by smaller domestic cats. A government report into the proposed importation of the cats has warned the hybrid breed may introduce enhanced hunting skills and increased body size into feral cat populations, putting native species at risk. The report states that the Savannah cats are not worth the risk.
