American Curl Cat
American Curl cat is a type of ear is marked with a curved or curly. American Curl kittens are born with straight ears, which begin to curl within ten days. After four months, their ears will not curl anymore, and should be hard and stiff to touch. A pet quality American Curl may have almost straight ears, but showcats must have ears that curl in the arc between 90 and 180 degrees. The angle that the bigger the better, but the cat will be disqualified if their ears touch the back of their skulls.
Both are long haired and shorthaired American Curls have soft, smooth coats which lie against their body. They require little maintenance, but enjoy spending time with their owners.
American Curl was first introduced in 1987 dipameran cat championship by the International Cat Association (Tica). In 1993, the American Curl became the first generation who were treated at the Cat Association of breeders' (CFA) Championship Class with both longhair division and shorthair.
The American Curl is a medium-sized cat (5-10 lbs), and not reached until 2-3 years time. They are strong and healthy, very free from genetic defects that affect many cats race.
