A Simple Homemade Dog Shampoo Recipe

While there is a huge number of commercially made dog shampoo options in the market, there’s really no reason why responsible dog owners can’t concoct their own batch of homemade doggy shampoo.

Below is a simply homemade dog shampoo recipe, one which dog owners who simply want to take a hand in the overall health and well-being of their furry buddies would want to look into.

A Simple Homemade Dog Shampoo made with Vinegar, Unscented Castile Soap and water

For this homemade dog shampoo, you’ll need to have vinegar, unscented castile soap and water handy.

Simply shred 4 tablespoons worth of solid unscented castile soap using a cheese grater (or any available shredding tool).

Pour the shredded soap in basin, then add 4 cups of hot or warm water. Mix the water and soap thoroughly using a whisk until the shredded soap bits have properly dissolved.

Add 1 cup of vinegar to the batch (either apple cider vinegar or white vinegar), and continue to mix.

After mixing, allow the mix to cool, then store in a container for storage.

Prior to using the homemade doggy shampoo, take the time to properly shake the container. Apply the shampoo mix as you would with any commercially made pet shampoo product, ensuring that you properly wash your dog’s coat from remaining bits of soap suds.

As simple as this homemade dog shampoo recipe is, it certainly affords your dog with a healthier and cleaner coat, negating the necessity of spending a lot on commercially produced doggy shampoo brands and options.
